More than 86 kilometres of road infrastructure and a bridge have been commissioned in Gombe State, with officials presenting the projects as a way to improve travel between rural communities and the state capital.

Borno Governor Babagana Zulum joined Gombe Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for the commissioning. Voice of Nigeria identified a 41-kilometre route in Kwami Local Government Area, a 30-kilometre road, a 15-kilometre route and the Titi-Kurba Bridge among the projects.

The roads fall within Gombe’s Network-1100 programme. Yahaya said the wider initiative is intended to connect communities across the state’s 11 local government areas.

Officials said better access should support farmers, traders and movement of agricultural produce. The practical test will be how reliably the routes serve residents and markets over time; the reported economic benefits remain expectations rather than independently measured outcomes.
