Nigeria’s Super Eagles have begun training in Nizhny Novgorod ahead of their friendly against Russia scheduled for Tuesday, 6 October.
Voice of Nigeria, citing the Nigeria Football Federation, reported that 17 players took part in the first session on Saturday.
Among those named were Moses Simon, Stanley Nwabali, Benjamin Fredricks, Emmanuel Fernandez, Kelechi Iheanacho and Akor Adams. The report said further sessions were planned before the match.
Nigeria and Russia drew 1–1 in Moscow in June 2025, with Tolu Arokodare scoring Nigeria’s equaliser after an own goal by Semi Ajayi. The current report concerns preparations, not a match result or a confirmed starting line-up. Selection decisions and the final squad should be checked against the federation’s subsequent team announcements.
